I am new at networking and i can't get my computers to share files

Whenever I go into View network computers and click on
another computer I get access denied contact
administrator on other computer. Is their another way I
can share files on my network and if so how. Can somebody
tell me how to fix it. Do I have to change security or
just download a program. Please help me if you can.

didn't help, and these are XP machines that are NOT in a
domain, uncheck the Use simple File sharing in the
Tools,Folder options, view. It way down on the bottom of
the list. It's checked by default.
