I have similar problem and would welcome help

Have tried to set up Windows mail & keep getting an "error" host does not
recognise POP3,

any solution please?

POP3 is a method of connecting and not valid as a server name.

Site peacock243.freeserve.co.uk either has not been registered with
DNS servers, or it hasn't been registered long enough for the information
to reach this part of the world, therefore reaching it by name won't work.
Check with it's owners about getting it registered, or with freeserve.co.uk
if you're the owner.

MSn partner dsl accounts are normally http accounts, I.e. Pop3 mail settings
are not applicable.
Vista's Windows Mail is not capable of handling msn http accounts.
You have three options for http accounts
1. Use MSn Explorer(should be provided as part of you isp account)
2. Use Windows Live Mail
3. Use Outlook 2003 or 2007 and install the Outlook Connector for http
compatibility.

If you have questions further question about your MSn account post your
questions in this forum.
