I am having problems with my microsoft word.

My toolbar doesn't show on my opened document and it won't let me type
anything. A message comes up on the bottom of the page that says "This
modification is not allowed because the document is locked." Now I have tried
looking up the microsoft word for help but I can't open under tools to unlock
the document because all of it is not highlighted. Also under File the save
or save as doesn't show up. I need your help please. It's very important
that I get help soon. I have many papers to grade and essays to write. Thank
You.

Have you activated Word? What happens when you choose Activate Product on
the Help menu?

If all new and existing documents are locked for editing, then it's
probably because you have not activated your Word/Office software, or
because you have an expired trial version of Office 2003. What happens
if you start Word and click on Help | Activate Product? If you are
already activated, a dialog box saying so will appear. If you are not
activated, the Activation Wizard will start. If you have an expired
trial version, a dialog box will prompt you to enter a valid product key
or purchase a key online.
