I am getting this error: There is not script engine for extension ".js"

P

I am not sure what to do. I am running WinXP Pro on an HP Livestrong
Pavilion. Any help would be appreciated. I am also using registry
mechanic. Not sure if that has anything to do with the problem. I
did have a trojan a few weeks back that Webroot Spy Sweeper caught.

Possibly related, possibly not, Google Desktop toolbar hasn't been
working in a while either.

Thanks,

It tells me it was successful, but the problem still persists. What
else could I try?

Okie. Are you trying to run a .JS (JScript) file when this error was seen?

BTW, you can reinstall/upgrade the scripting engine by downloading "Windows Script 5.7 for Windows XP" from here:
