I am getting an error when I try to group data in a pivot table.

I have been working with the same data fields for weeks, pasting in new data
and refreshing my data source ranges. I have been able to group dates in my
data, but now today I am not able to group my dates.
 
If you have any text (or blanks) in that field, then you won't be allowed to
group it.

If you're positive that there are no blanks/text in that field, then you may
want to rebuild the pivottable.

Sometimes, xl "knows" that there are non-dates in the field, even when I can't
find any! And in cases like that, excel wins (even if it's wrong!).
