Hyperthreading support

If Windows 2000 does not support Multithreading it never will. They are not going to invest time and manpower in an Op sys that has reached the end of its lifetime. Do you expect Microsoft to do any more work on Windows 3.11 MS-DOS Windows NT4 Windows 95\98\ME? No.

I agree with you Windows XP does seem to be a hog. Can you try Windows 2003? But I have only noticed XP to be a hog in older systems. Systems tha come with XP I do not notice it.

Hello everyone,

I have been running Windows XP Professional for some time now and have come
to find it to be too slow for me. I run a powerful machine but XP just
drains that power away. I've resorted to using Windows 2000 Professional
again as I like it, enjoy it's power and capabilities and it doesn't drain
my system's resources.

I have a P4 3.4 GHz HT processor but have noticed that I have to disable
hyperthreading because Windows 2000 doesn't support it. Does anyone know of
anyway to solve this or is it something Microsoft is working on? Any
feedback would be greatly appreciated!
