HI

I have I hyperlink in a Excel document pointing to a RTF document which I
want to open wind Wordpad. I have assiociated the RTF file extension to
WordPad. When I double click on a RTF document in the explorer, Wordpad is
indeed used to open the document.

However, when I click on the hyperlink, MsWord is used to open the
document.....
Does anybody know how to force the program that is used to open the
hyperlink ? Or is there somewhere a set of parameters (probably) in the
register that can be changed ?

Thanks for your answers, Daan

Daan64,

You need to right-click the file, select 'Open With' > Choose Program >
check the 'always use the selected program to open this kind of file' box >
highlight WordPad, select OK.
Note:
In the future if you want to open a Rich Text File (.rtf) in Word you will
need to do the same steps and reassociate with Word.

Hi Daan,

Click Start, Run and type CMD
Type this command and press Enter

ASSOC .RTF=Wordpad.Document.1

Close and re-open the Excel document.
