Hyperlinks not working in protected forms

A hyperlink in a Word protected form is not working. When I unprotect the
form, the link works. The document is in the directory where I am pointing.
The form was originally created in a previous version of Word and now I am
using 2003. Could this be the problem?
 
This is an ACCESS newsgroup, not a WORD newsgroup. We work on Access
Databases, not Word Documents.
