Hyperlinks in PowerPoint

I have a PowerPoint presentation with hyperlinks to Excel workbooks and Word
documents. The Word documents work fine, but the Excel workbooks do not
open. I have even tried saving the Excel workbook in Word and linking that,
but the file still won't open. Any ideas what to do? I tried the PowerPoint
community with no success.

How do you know they are links? Have they been convert?
Try making a new slide with a link to one of the Excel workbooks to see if
this works.

I found out that the links did not work in Powerpoint because I had a '#'
symbol in the title of my Excel file. Once the symbols were removed they
worked fine. Thanks for trying.
