Hyperlink

I am using Word 2007 with ...
Word Options > Proofing > AutoCorrect Options > AutoForamt > Replace
"Internet and network paths with hyperlinks" is NOT checked.

Every time I type a string that looks like a network path is its converted
to a Hyperlink.

How can I stop this?

You can either disable this 'AUtoFormat feature by unchecking the various
hyperlink options under Tools, AutoCorrect or alternatively, you can simply
use Ctrl+Z (Undo) when it happens.

As I reported it is currently unchecked and it still does the substitution.

This is true in Word and Outlook.

Excel and PowerPoint work properly.

I would swear it was once working and has stopped working in both Word and
Outlook.

A contaminated registry entry perhaps?

There are two tabs on which this setting appears: AutoFormat and AutoFormat
As You Type. The latter is the one that matters when you're typing.

Some Bits!

You solved my problem!

After setting it in both places in Word I went to Outlook in the message
formatter and they both had been reset to ON. I turned them both off there.

Outlook and Word no longer do the substitutions.

I can now paste lists of URLs into my e-mail messages when needed and NONE
of them are converted to hyperlinks. I can have a URL in my signature and
it is not converted to a hyperlink.

If I send the message to my self it has no unwanted hyperlinks when it
arrives.

If I reply to it when it arrives back it still has no hyperlinks!

The next time you are in Keene, NH holler and I'll buy you a drink.

Thank you for the help navigating the ANUOPM (All New Ubiquitous Office
Parameter Maze).

I think I actually know someone in Keene or near there. Oh, wait, it's
Lincoln. Is that near Keene?

Lincoln is Northeast
Keene is Southwest
120 miles

Ah, okay. The association with Keene must come from somewhere else, then.
What's it noted for? (I could google it, of course, but your answer would be
more personal. <g>)

Thanks. I looked at the "Points of Interest" and didn't see any that would
explain why Keene would seem familiar to me unless it was the fall foliage
tours.
