Recently I have been having trouble whenever I type an email address or web
address in Word...

What happens for example is that it looks like this:

{HYPERLINK"malito:[email protected]"

How do I change this option that it gives me a highlighted blue link rather
than all of this other wording?

Hi MCU,

You can use Alt+F9 to toggle away from the field code display you're seeing to the field result. There is also a setting in
Tools=>Options that can affect the default display of the codes.
