Hyperlink failure

I have a powerpoint presentation that is a directory. I have a slide
used as the index. Each line in the index is an hyperlink to the
subject of the index entry. Each page has an hyperlink back to the
index.

I have installed about 50 links so far and I test each one and the
return as it is installed.

Suddenly I have a link that will not 'stick". If I use the dialogue
box, select the target and click OK and then repeat the CTRL K the
link does not exist. If I run the slide show the link fails.

Seems like a mystery. A subsequent link has performed normally.

You can run into problems if the total amount of space required to store all
the links exceeds an internal limit of PowerPoint's but with 50 links, it's not
likely you've hit that wall.

Does the slide linked to from the bad link have any commas in the slide title?
That's usually the cause of this kind of thing.

Thanks Steve,

That comma was the problem

What is the limit to the number of links because I am only part way
through the project.

Thanks,

Robin

It's not the number of links but the storage space they occupy.
For example, a link to another slide includes the slide's title, so long titles
will push you against the limit faster than shorter ones.

Lost hyperlinks, hyperlinks link to wrong place, hyperlinks stop working
