Hyperlink Bug

I think I just discovered a rare bug in the 2003 Viewer. I am using PPT
2003 to develop. Try this:
1. Create an autoshape (rectangle is OK). Fill with any color. Assign
a hyperlink to another presentation.
2. Create another autoshape. Change fill color to 'No Fill'. Assign a
hyperlink to another presentation.

Test in PowerPoint - everything works.

Save and test using the 2003 Viewer. The autoshape created in step 2
does not have a hyperlink.

I tested this a dozen different ways. As long as there is fill - even
with transparency as high as 95%, everything works in the Viewer. With
no fill, the hyperlink breaks.

Can anyone explain this?

It's a known problem (whether it's a bug or by design I don't know though)

Documented somewhere?

I thought it was on Sonia's site; may well be, although not on the page I sent
you the link to. Not sure where else, but it's been mentioned here before.

Kathy Jacobs, over to you ... you've got toothmarks from this, no?

Toothmarks? I think I have scars from this one ;) I wrote about the
problem's existence in this article back in July of 2004:

But I can't find more details about how we found it - I think it was just
found via experiment and never documented anywhere else.
