HUGE mistake, please help

I think I just made the stupidest mistake ever! I
accidentally deleted some stuff off of my moms pc and to
get it back, I thought I'd re-install the operating
system, Windows XP. Well turns out you are not suppose
to do that! Well I spent 1 hr with a Dell technician and
we thought we had it fixed and after I hung up with the
technician, it messed up again. The pc will turn on, it
will start to re-install the operating system, then when
it's almost done, it goes to a blue screen and says an
error has occured and had to stop so that there wouldn't
be any damage done. The PC will not re-start in safe
mode. Can anyone offer any advice? Is the computer
doomed for ever now? Can I take it somewhere to get it
fixed? Is it even fixable? If so, about how much money
will it cost to fix something like this? Thank you for
your time and please help me! I don't know what I'll do
if I ruined moms computer and she just got it 1 week
ago! please help me.

tap f1 repeatedly on system power up and go into bios and
change first boot devise to cd and then boot from your
backup cd, to reinstalll the operating syatem. if you don't
have your backup cd then have dell mail it to you.

Be a man (or a woman) and go to your mom and tell her you messed up.
Take the machine to a good local repair shop (not a BestBuy or CompUSA
type of store) and pay for the repairs out of your own pocket. Since I
don't know where you live and haven't seen your machine, I can't guess
how much it will cost. My guesstimate if I were doing the work would be
around $60-80.

If she got it only a week ago, take it back or call the tech support team of
the manufacturer.

Finally someone who offers some really helpful advice
instead of snapping at the asker.

My suggestion is this, call dell back, get a different tech
one who is a bit more helpful, and have them step you thru
the restore process. I imagine you have a restore cd
rather than an install CD. or break down and fess up to mom
and have her take the pc back and get it fixed.
I would hope that you have learned a lesson with this
not to mess around with things you have only a partial
knowledge of, at least not to mess around with someone
else's PC
