Wondering if anything can be done to reduce the size of an excel file.

It is currently standing at 12Meg!!

Admitedly, it does have approx 40,000 row * 8 colums on 3 sheets
However, it is all raw data with only 1 formula line for 200 lines on
sheet.

Any ideas how I can cut this down to a more managable file?

Thanks:confused

Copying only cells containing sth. into a *new* worksheet might help -
but maybe not enormously. With 40'000 rows you're reaching limits...

Thanks for your help - that cut it down to 11Meg so I guess that i
won't be able to get much smaller due to the sheer number of cell
being used

Depending on why you care about the size of the file, you could use
something like winzip to compress it.

Or even save it as 3 (one per sheet) .csv files--and even zip that.

Try also, on each sheet in a copy, to select everything (click left of
coli\umnheader A, avove row 1) and go menu Edit > Clear > Formats, then
save.

HTH. Best wishes Harald
