huge cpu overload and .tmp files created

this started happening yesterday, my whole computer starting lagging really
bad, and i checked the windows task manager . however it said the cpu was
around 2-5%, but my yellow light on my computer tower(usually flashes when
comp is loading or cpu is high) started flashing non-stop. then i noticed my
disk space started going down and i keep getting a popup message from norton
saying the trojan "pwsteal.trojan" has been deleted several times over and
over again, and i found out my temp folder was filled with 6 unknown files
with the extension ".tmp" which were around 3-6 gigs each, when i tried to
delete them my whole computer froze. my computer is still lagging at the
moment and help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

i've tried the above, i managed to delete all of the .tmp files except for 1
which is around 3 gigs, and im not able to delete it for some reason, i've
found out that when my norton anti virus auto protect is enabled my computer
starts lagging and more ".tmp" files are created, however when i turn it off
my computer stops lagging and the .tmp files are halted.
