I have installed Windows Live Mail. When I respond to web sites like Craigs
list & Nascar.com, I get the following message:

-- "Information About HTTP E-mail

Windows Mail no longer supports the HTTP servers used by Hotmail and other
web-based e-mail providers. Click the Back button to set up a different
e-mail account, or see other options for accessing your web-based e-mail."

Why is it that when I try to respond to or contact websites I get this
message even though I've installed Windows Live Mail? How do I tell my
computer to use Windows Live Mail and not Windows Mail?

Sounds like Windows Live Mail doesn't have all its defaults.
Open the Default Programs applet, which you can access either from
the Start menu or via the Control Panel, then click the first item:
"Set your default programs."
After a few seconds, a list of programs comes up. Click on "Windows
Live Mail". If it doesn't respond with "This program has all its defaults"
then fix it by clicking on the option indicated by the first green arrow.

Windows Mail program.
