I personally have not - have you submitted the link to SpyNet? Also, are
you running XP SP2 with the new popup blocker? It works great. I'm not
sure how to manually enter a site off the top of my head - if it is even
possible. Perhaps you can block the site via entering it into your "Blocked
Sites" in your IE Zones. Just a different angle to possibly thwart this.

Hi T,
Boot into Safe Mode (F8) at startup;
Empty your temporary files AND your Temporary Internet Files C:\Documents
and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files folder ;
Run the scan while in safe mode;
If you are running SP2, open IE--->Tools--->Manage Add-ons, and uncheck any
BHO's that you don't recognize.

I'm using Windows 2000 SP4. I have the site listed in Restricted Sites in
IE. That doesn't prevent it from popping up. I have the site listed in
Content Advisor. That prevents the contents from being displayed, but the
browser still opens with the URL displayed in the border along with a dialog
box that informs me that Content Advisor will not allow me to see the site.
But, IE still opens and I have to clear the Content Advisor box. This is
almost as bad as just having the popup happen.

Ron,

I followed your instructions to a T, but the popup is still occuring. BTW,
I'm running Windows 2000 SP4 and IE 6.0.2800.1106IC. I do not see the
Manage Add-ons option you reference under Tools.

Yes, that would be annoying. I don't have that problem with XP SP2 now that
there is a popup blocker integrated, but with W2K SP4 I would go with a
Google popup blocker or something of that nature. Hope you get healthy
soon!

Try running a deep scan, on the scan page, choose Scan Options > Full System
Scan, do this at least two times.

Followed the Quick Fix instruction in the Word document entitled "THE PARASITE FIGHT QUICK FIX PROTOCOL Last Updated February 20, 2005". Well, everything except step #8. My antivirus software, McAfee Virusscan v8.0, would not let Hijackthis.Exe run as it kept detecting a virus. I didn't know if the exe was really infected or not, so I did not disable the antivirus software. Anyone experience this problem with Hijackthis? Anyway, HttpP://hits.clickandtrack.net still pops up.

So, I'll try the next section, "If Quick Fix Doesn't Work".

You must update HijackThis.
