whenever I do a search, on any search engine (e.g.
google, yahoo, msn, etc.), I get the 'http 404 not found'
error. If I type an url in the address bar it works
fine, only when I search do I get this problem. I've
noticed this ever since I installed critical updates.

If anyone knows what this is, I would appreciate the help.

Thanks

I am getting the same thing. Try to search on google or
excite. That will allow you to search, but it is still
annoying not to be able to search anywhere.

It is the Qhosts trojan. Install the critcal update MS03-040 to prevent it
happening again. Read the following site and get the fix tool.
