HTML signature spacing problem

Susan

Hi,

I have created an html page that I am using as a signature in Outlook
2000. When I import the html page as a signature and begin composing a
message, each time I hit return, the line is double spaced. When
looking at the code in Outlook, it appears as if it is generating a
paragraph <p></p> each time I hit return. Without the signature,
Outlook usually single spaces, which I what I want it to do. Is there
anyway to get Outlook to insert a <br> with each return instead of a
<p>. Or is there some other way to single space the email (besides
doing it manually with a shift+enter?

Thanks in advance for any light you can shed.

The html code of the signature is:

<html>
<body bgcolor="#FFFFFF" leftmargin="0" topmargin="0" marginwidth="0"
marginheight="0">
<table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" align="center">
