Html page to master page

Hi

I have an existing layout in the form of an html page. I need to turn this
into a master page. Are there any step by step instructions to do this eg
how do I turn specific areas into master page elements etc.?

I don't think there is any automated way of doing this. Create a new master
page and then cut the relavent HTML from your existing page and place it in
the master page.

Place the content control(s) in the desired location within your new master
page.
