Ran across this the other day http://www.mpsoftware.dk/htmlgate.php
Looks prety good so far. I have not played with it much, but it has
promise.

Did you hear the one about the dyslexic, agnostic, insomniac?
He would stay up late every night and wonder if there was a dog.

One of these days, I'd like to find an HTML editor that allows me to
right-click a tag and change its variables in a dialog box like Homesite
does. I still have,'t found a replacement for my old registered shareware
version of Homesite 3.0.

BTW, htmlgate doesn't do that.

TSW WebCoder 5 does that
http://www.tsware.net/
right click on a tag and then choose "Edit tag"

After playing with it for a few days, I have decided not to use it. It
has a feature that is annoying, and when it is turned off, it makes
saving pages difficult.

I like it in some aspects, but HTML Kit is still my choice.

Thus spake El Gee:

....and that would be? Just trying to save downloading a pig-in-a-poke.

I'm not quite ready to replace the antiquated (I.e.-no Unicode support)
HomeSite 5 yet, but I'm looking for a freeware alternative. HTML Kit
seems to cluttered, and I do like tag editors (my memory sucks),
integrated CSS editors and the ability to add and customize auxiliary
toolbars.

Any other ideas?

TIA

Neill

It is the WYSIWYG save feature. Every time you change tabs, it asks if
you want to save what was done in WYSIWYG mode (even though you may not
have chagned anything or even gone into that mode). If you turn off the
prompt, you have to save it everytime you go from preview to coding
mode. Very annoying.

Do not download it. HTML Kit still is may fav. As for the clutter, it
is very customizable.
