hpow to disable search companion when clicking folders

Hi there

this thing happened for no reason, after I did a search.on my p.c. .now
everytime I try to click on a folder to open it the search comapnion opens up
and ask me what i want to search for, instead of the folder just opening to
its contents automatically Its driving me nuts.

Usually you can right click on the companion and tell him to go away.
Once sent to the doghouse, he isn't supposed to come back unless called.
