John

I was talking to tech support about getting my cd burner
to work . I did everything they said to do even a restore
to the point when it last worked . Now it's worse , among
other problems / I tryed to contact tech support again
but it comes up as message not sent ? I haVE BEEN TRYING
TO GET HELP ON THIS PROBLEM FOR MONTHS . sorry for the
yelling but i'm getting pissed off about HP's help .
Yep thats what they say they do !
Havent helped me at all . only made things worse .
Anybody have any tips on getting the burner to work ?

Glad you got that off your chest. Problem is - you didn't say HOW the CD
burner is not working. For lack of anything better, plug in the cables to
the drive.

Now, if you would care to share any real information, maybe someone can
assist you. It doesn't work just isn't sufficient!

john your post is worthless,if this is the info you
gave hp it isnt a surprise they cannot help you.

You sometimes have to "shop around" in HP tech support to find a good tech.
I often will call the help line under "Corporate Customers" and it seems
these have a little more experence. What kind of HP burner do you have ? (ie
USB, PCI and Model #) Interface ? and what kind of error messages are you
getting ? Also are you using the native Windows XP drivers or telling the
install wizard that you have the CD ? There are some problems with the HP
Burners (older ones) that only support up to Windows 98SE, found that for
the most part, the native Windows drivers would work if HP does not have a
update. Also if you happen to have a HP Scanner connected at the same time
(or some camera drivers that use the TWAIN interface) you will not be able
to get the CD burner to work unless you disable the scanner or camera.
Anyway with a little more info, maybe someone can find a good answer. I have
gone thru 4 HP burners and have had a fair amount of experience (and at
times frustration) with these.

John,
I have the HP 9100. I slapped it in, turned it on, installed the CD like it
said. It works great. I have burned at least 100 CDs and I know my son has
done a lot more. Makes me think your problem isn't the CD burner.

Doesn't work???
Does your CD-Rom work on anything at all? Like play music CDs
Does it activate when you insert a CD
Man, you must repost so someone may give you some assistance
