HP Officejet 6110 - scanning software advice?

B

Bill Lyons

I recently bought a 6110 OfficeJet to replace both an old fax and a
photocopier. Used standalone it seems exactly what I want.

Very occasionally I might wish to scan an image to my W98 PC. However I
don't have spare room on my hard disk to install the software package
provided and can hardly believe it needs 600 MB just for this one
function.

Is there any way of installing just the scanning portion of the HP
software? Or is there any other way of accessing the scanning function
of the 6110 from the PC, perhaps with other (smaller) software.

Any advice gratefully appreciated.

When the CD starts up does it offer a "Custom Installation?"

Unfortunately no. Although the InstallShield panel says "The program
features you selected are being installed" in fact there are no custom
options - it is all or nothing.
