That 'hpoevm08.exe' program is the 'Event Manager' for your printer. It
runs when you use the 'Director', or from the 'HPAiODevice' shortcut in your
Start folder. To observe it, run Task Manager and 'End Process' for
anything that starts with HP. Then run 'Director' and watch the various
functions, including that one, kick in.

The message you're receiving is not normal ... do you have the latest
updates for your printer? Is there an aborted printer job stuck in your
queue (double-click on your printer icon to check). Are there two
'hpoevm08.exe's running in Task Manager?

Also, you can remove any HP shortcut(s) in your Start folder (e.g.
HPAiODevice) ... HP says you should have it, but you don't ... whatever is
needed will run when you start the 'Director'. The 'HPAiODevice' shortcut
is only needed if you don't use the 'Director' option, and it will load the
same programs (including 'hpoevm08.exe').

If all else fails, you might have to uninstall/reinstall the printer
software (and updates). Be sure to unplug the printer first and follow the
instructions carefully. And don't forget to remove the printer drivers from
Printers and Faxes, File, Server properties, Drivers tab.
