Do you need both the 57 & 58 HP cartridges to print color pictures. They
both seem to be color ink.

The color #57 cartridge has standard cyan, yellow and magenta. The #58
cartridge has light magenta, light cyan and photo black. You can print photos
with just the #57 cartridge. Using the #58 cartridge with the #57 cartridge
together can give better photo's, with less graininess in light areas and
better black areas.
