HP 5470C Scanner seems to work under Vista

Just for the hell of it, I installed the HP 5470C scanner software under
Vista (ultimate RC 2 build 5744). This was a direct installation under
a clean install of Vista, not an upgrade of XP. With a couple of
prompts, it installed fine with no problems, and appeared to run. My
initial attempts to actually do and save a scan failed when I tried to
save the final scan, but after clicking on "run as administrator", even
that ran fine. I did get some "script warnings", but they seemed to
have no consequence when I simply ignored them.

The installation package that I used was HP PrecisionScan Pro version
3.13 (filename SJ668en.exe, 60 megabytes). I also applied XP Update,
SJ667.exe (not sure if this is necessary, and it generated a warning).

It SEEMS to be working with full functionality.

I actually have the ADF installed (which technically makes this a 5490C
rather than a 5470C), I didn't try the ADF but it's very likely to work
(I also didn't test the slide and transparency scanner, but that also is
likely to work).

HP says that the 5470C does not work under Vista and that a Vista driver
will explicitly not be made available for this product, but in fact the
XP software seems to work ok if you use "run as administrator"
