HP 3rd party programs

I have bought a HP officejet 6110 and would like to know if someone would
know some 3rd party programs for the printer and the scanner. What good
programs do you user for your HP printer? If someone would know then thanks.
 
Ive read that the scanner on this is capable of more than the HP director
scanning program lets you, things like that. thanks
