HP 2000c bottom margin too large

I can't seem to be able to reduce the bottom margin on
the prints on my DeskJet 2000c. For some time now it
prints with a .61" minimum bottom margin (MS Word)
however HP says it can do .46". It seems trivial but you
miss the 1/4" when your documents start printing on
multiple pages, I have adjusted percentage to "fit to"
page for Excel but pictures look rather off balance on a
page unless you reduce the top margin, and then you get
huge top and bottom margins... YUK. Called HP tech
support and they got the same result ... so it's not just
me! And they don't care about M.S. Windows XP driver
issues. HP does not have this printer driver for XP, and
2000 does not work! The workaround I found is to use
DeskJet 1220c drivers from HP. This now gives me the
proper margin however it does not have optional bottom
paper tray... DAMN.
Anyone with same problem?
