HOWTO: Have non printing text

G

Guest

I have a Word 2007 document that is a collection of precisely placed text
boxes. I use the document infrequently. (But, when I use it, it is an
invaluable resource for me - invariably I forget something I needed to do
before I waste a load of paper in the printer.

I would like to have a text box or paragraph visible on the page that
reminds me how to use/print/load paper for the document BUT not have this
text box or text print onto the paper.

Thank you JoAnn...

If I create some text, highlight it, goto Font dialog and select Hidden, all
text disappears off the page.

What I want is some displayed text that won't print.

Am I missunderstanding your suggestion?

I don't have Word 2007 so I can't tell you where to look but in 2003, it was
under Tools - Options

I hit the Send button by mistake - You can set your computer up to show you
hidden text. You'll have to do a bit of searching the Help file to find out
how to do that in 2007. Sorry I can't take you past this point.

Thanks again JoAnn...

I understand your limit so maybe another will step into the thread.

The setting you refer to is in the Windows Button (top left corner of the
ribbon), Word Options, Display, Show Hidden Text.

But the whole document instead of the highlighted text becomes hidden text
and nothing prints.

Best regards,
Michael
