The Windows XP CD is bootable and contains all the tools necessary to
partition and format your drive. Follow this procedure and allow Windows XP
to partition and format your drive:

1. Open your BIOS and set your CD Drive as the first bootable device.
2. Insert your Windows XP CD in the CD Drive and reboot your omputer.
3. You'll see a message to boot to the CD....follow the instructions.
4. The setup menu will appear and you should elect to delete the existing
Windows partitions, then create a new partition, then format the primary
partition (preferably NTFS) and proceed to install Windows XP.

5. Clean Install Windows XP

6. After installing Windows XP, be sure and visit the support website of
the manufacturer of the computer to download and install any available
Windows XP compatible drivers, such as video adapter and audio drivers.

How do you unistall xp and reistall it ?? because i had a
virus and now the computer screen turns totaly black for
1-2 seconds.. and it stands so in 10 minutes... and u
cant do anything when it does so... it happens when i
change display settings and minimise a game... plz HELP ME

Put the XP CD in the drive and re-start the computer. The
CD will boot and you'll be offered the option to format and
reinstall the OS on the hard drive.
Depending on what virus you had and how well you removed it,
you might be able to do just a re-install (repair) of the
installation. You would start either operation the same
way, boot the CD, select to install. In either case you
want to install over the current install and not do a second
(dual boot).

To do a complete, clean, reinstall, boot the XP CD direct. Enter Setup,
and after the license agreement take New Install. When it asks you to
confirm where, hit ESC; select and delete the current partition and make
a new RAW one to be formatted at the next stage

You might first *try* a repair rather than New Install, though I don't
hold out much hope. But you might get something working well enough to
ensure that data backups are up to date
