How would I generate a report that gets random data from a table? I am a
teacher and want to be able to allow my students to add questions to a
database and then make their own test from the "test question database". Is
this a report function or a querry function?

Before anyone could give you an intelligent answer you'll have to
provide a lot of detail about your schema design. It would also be
helpful if you would include a paragraph or so of more detailed
description about how you expect your students to enter their
questions and how they will select the particular questions for
"their" test.

Even before I hear your reply, I expect that even the simplest
application that would be easy to use yet bullet-proof for your
students would be more complex than you anticipate.

I have two daughters who are teachers so I'm a bit of a soft touch for
teachers who are trying to get something done with Access. I have one
application that is a test generator. If what you want and need is
close enough that a little tweaking on my part would meet your needs
then I'll tweak it and send you a copy. If you'd like to explore that
