will swap data back and forth to the hard disk.
RAM = Fast
Hard Disk = Slow

Ignoring other stuff like disk cache's, once you have enough RAM,
sticking more in won't then speed it up anymore.

It is possible to run programs from a RAM Drive with sufficient memory.
