How view shortcuts in Explorer?

With Windows XP. . .when I open “My Computer†there’s a blue column on the
left side that includes shortcuts to “My Documents†and other locations.

How can I view these types of shortcuts when I open Windows Explorer?

Windows Explorer:
View > Explorer bars > UN-tick 'Folders'
Tools > Folder Options > (*) Show common tasks in folders
