How to use VSS with VS.NET while Clearcase client is on my PC

Hi,

I use VSS for visual studio .net 2003 development. However I recently
installed the Clearcase client for use with Rational App Developer 6. When I
did that, Clearcase unexp;ectledly took over all source control operations
within VS.NET. How do I tell VS.NET not to use Clearcase, but to go back to
using VSS instead?

thanks

Hi Robb,

You can try to open Option windows from the tools menu. Select Source
Control/General in the left pane to see if it is using the Visual
Sourcesafe settings.

Also can you see Microsoft Visual Sourcesafe from the File/Source Control
menu?

If that still doesn't work, I suggest you try to re-install VSS on this
machine, because I think the integration between Visual Studio .Net and VSS
has been corrupted by Clearcase setup.

Kevin,

I uninstalled ClearCase client, and then re-installed it. It has a "custom"
option that I did not choose the first time. This custom option allows you
to de-select the VS.NEt integration.

thanks
