If you have many slides, dragging off the placeholders manually maybe tedious.
One way is to make use of custom animation.
Click View > Master > Slide Master.
Click Slide Show > Custom Animation.
Click on the title placeholder.
Click Add Effect > Exit > Disappear.
Set the Start to After Previous.
Close Master View.
Now, even though the titles appear on the slides, they will not be shown in
slide show.

Not nearly as quick and direct as dragging the title off the slide, but it
works: cover the title with a text-free textbox filled only with the
background color of the slide itself.
