How to use IE to launch jpg as slide show

R

Richard

I have posted this a few days back and someone is kind
enough to suggest using freeware viewer. My sincere
thanks to him for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I
couldnt use this external software. Appreciate it very
much if someone show me how to use dos command to run IE
such that it launches the designated jpg into slide show.
The command is similar to iexplore.exe c:\jpgfile. I
tried all sort of dos commands and it still doesnt work.
Pls help...
ps. I have a mixure of win98 and winxp PCs environment.

Richard,

Try using the new web interface to newsgroups. Then you will be
able to reply in thread even if a discussion lapses for a few days.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie...19a1&catlist=&dglist=&ptlist=&exp=&sloc=en-US

BTW the Home page for that portal also contains links to let you use
your real NNTP newsreader which you might find even easier to use.

This is why it is always a good idea to disclose your OS when
you're looking for help.

FWIW I don't know anything about win98 but XP has as its
default association for all image file types its Picture and Fax Viewer.
You can run slide shows using it.

It's documented in your XP Help. ;o (Press Win-F1 and search with
"Fax Viewer" -- including the quotes). Notice also the Related Topics
which branch out from the article that search finds.
