Which version of PowerPoint?

In 2003, I can do this:

Click within text
Choose Insert, Symbol

In the Symbol dialog box:
Choose a unicode font (I picked Arial Unicode MS in this case)
In the Subset area, choose Private Use Area
This font doesn't have many characters in the Private Use Area but there are a
few: f- ligatures in Roman characters and several others that I don't
recognize.

When I pick them, they appear on my PPT slide.

Try to do the same with any font except with MS delivered fonts. If you take
font with customized PUE for specific purpose, PP simply does not read them.
The froblem is that you can not define any font you like as a complex font in
PP. If you like to test it, try for example NCS IndUni, available free on the
web.

Do you have a URL for it?
