How to use access to compute income statemet and balance sheet?

I would like to know how to create a database to input data such as cash
receipts, inventory, payment, sales and orders. I'm lost in doing my
assignment and i feels clueless in it. Can someone enlighten me with these?
moreover, the end of the output i have to get a income statement and
balancesheet. Can it be done?
