Does anyone know how to unprotect a word document, if you
have forgoten the password?
Thanks

If it were easy, there wouldn't be much point in the password protection.
There are companies on the net that will sell you software that claims to do
it (it's called 'cracking'). Personally, there's no way I'd trust my credit
card to them; and I've never seen a credible post from someone with
first-hand experience of using one successfully.

If the document is protected against opening, then you are in trouble. There
are cracking programs out there that will work if you have enough time and a
PC to devote to the process - days or even weeks if the password is complex.
There is an example linked from the favourites page of my web site which
will do the job.

If the document is protected for forms or for editing, then you can
in the case of the first - insert the document into a new document, which
will not have the protection
or the second - save as a new filename without the protection. You will not
be able to access the originals.
