How to unistall vista?

I've installaed vista on a second partiton and I would like to unistall it
now but in a manner that I do have my original settigs back...

I'm mainly concerned about the boot manager..........

You need to remove your Vista boot loader and replace it with the XP boot
loader before you remove Vista. The easiest way to do this is to use
VistaBootPro from http://www.vistabootpro.org/. This has the option (click
the Bootloader button) to remove the Vista boot loader and restore the XP
one.

Once you have done that, your PC should simply boot into XP and you can then
safely format your Vista partition.
