How to Uninstall junk programs

My pc came with factory installed programs (AOL,vonage,MSN) that I wan
to get rid of.
None appear in the add/remove list, or have uninstall files.
How do I uninstall these? Just going through and deleting all the file
that show after a search
isn't the way to do it. Suggestions?
(I have XP Home edition on an HP desktop

You should be able to remove these from the uninstall
(add/remove) page. Be sure to check with the company that
the software was installed from (vonage, aol, etc) - these
could be a limited time trial, and you would need to stop
the trial account with these before removing them.

deciding what I will do.

Are you sure they are actually installed? Some computers come with shortcuts
on the desktop to install these services if you want to use them. If that's
the case, and you never clicked on them, they may not be installed, and all
you may have to do is delete the target the shortcut points to and the
shortcut itself.

I did a search on the hard drive under the program name and got a long
list, not counting all the hidden stuff in the registry. I looked for
uninstall files in all the folders, but no luck.

Then it would seem that you are probably right that they are installed, and
my guess was wrong.
