how to undelete files

How do I undelete a Picture Dir that I deleted by mistake ?
stated it was to big for the Recycle Bin and asked if I
want to delete permently and I answered yes !
Now I need the files!
They were of my Dad who died and I don't have a copy !!
If anyone could help I would Greatly apprecate it Truly !!

That's sad to hear

First thing; don't defragment! Now, take a look here over at Google and
there will be links to different programs used to recover files:

I don't think many of them are better over the others.

Alternatively, you could try Windows XP System Restore instead (Start>All
Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore). Please note that any
programs installed after the date you choose to restore will be removed so I
suggest that you backup as many personal files as possible.

No, NO, No, No, NO!!!!!!!!!

Do not use system restore. Those photos can't be duplicated. Using system
restore is very likely to over write them.

Stop using the computer NOW!

Use another computer and go to www.ontrack.com and look into EasyRecovery
Professional. I used it with 100% success quite a few times. It's expensive,
but it always works, as long as the files have NOT been over written.

never used it but have had others tell me it worked just great. Best of all
it's free.
And don't be so quick to delete things in the future.

Download the program from www.RecoverMyFiles.com (use the one that you put
on floppy disk). Run this and see if you can see your files. Good luck
