How to track product specs and revisions during design phase

Is Access the appropriate program to help manage information for U.S. based
company with overseas managers/producers when there are:
1) Many products (75 existing, 25 in development in fashion accessories/home
decor market)
2) Made by many producers overseas
3) Using a variety of fabrics and materials from different suppliers
4) With many product design revisions until final product approved
5) Info that needs to be centralized for all users who will provide
questions/info/ feedback on a near daily basis.

Hi Basket,

Access will handle your data needs very nicely. The most important
thing to get right is setting up your database structure (like the
foundation of a building).

I do have a question on what you mean by this:

5) Info that needs to be centralized for all users who will provide
questions/info/ feedback on a near daily basis.

Are you on a network where everybody can get to a common drive?

I would be happy to email you a document on Access Basics (30 pages) to
help you plan -- just send me an email and request it in the subject line.

Warm Regards,
Crystal

I don't think it is possible to give a definitive answer to this question in
a newsgroup. A definitive answer would, in my opinion, require a much more
thorough analysis of the requirements of the project and the environment in
which it will execute than is possible here. The mention of overseas
managers, though, suggests that some form of remote access or WAN may be
involved. That being so, you may find Albert Kallal's article at the
following URL helpful ...

Dear Brendan,

Thank you so much for your thoughtful reply. Although I struggle to
understand everything in the article that you sent, it no doubt provides very
important planning considerations. I'm forwarding it on to individuals who
know considerably more than I. I only really know about the problems I'm
trying to address. Thank you again!

Well, you're very welcome, but all I did was post a link - the credit really
belongs to Albert, for writing the article.
