how to stop search when double clicking c:/ drive

Could someone please help?.When I go into my computer and double click to
open my c:/ drive it comes up with the search companion. I have right clicked
and noticed that search is at the top of the list followed by open and then
explore. Is there a way to change how my drive opens this has been a recent
problem to which I have no idea of the cause. I have another pc and when I
right click the c:/ drive on that one the options are open, explore and then
search how do I change this so that when I double click it opens instead of
giving me the pesky search companion?

Hi easiet option will probably be. tools/folder options/file
types>restore defaults, you can manually just change the order for one
in particular however.

Search opens after editing Drives or Directories

Type in Start Run

regsvr32 /i shell32

This occurs when you use the File Types dialog to edit Drives or
Directories. You need to type the above each time you use that dialog to
edit those two types.
