how to startup computer with internet connection default set as disabled?

Robbie

I have access to the internet via broadband, meaning at computer
startup I am automatically connected to the internet. I would prefer to
startup my computer with this connection disabled. I know that I can go
to the Network Connections option in Control Panel and manually disable
the Local Area Connection, so that when I next startup my computer the
internet connection remains disabled. I can then enable the connection
when I choose. The problem is rememebering to disable the connection
before shutdown.

Is it possible to set a default so the connection is disabled at
startup? Is there something in Computer Management (in Administrative
Tools) that can be changed?

Thanks in advance

Robbie

There really is no reason to shut your system down.On mine I just shut the
monitor off.I have had the sysem on 24/7 for the past year....except for
restarts during installations.
I also use ZoneAlarm Firewall which has the ability to block all incoming
and outgoing data ...in effect cutting off broadband.
The program is free...do a google and I am sure you'll find it.
