how to start page numbering from third page of report

In Word 2007 I am using a template that has a report cover page then an index
page. I wish to start numbering page 3 of the physical document as Page 1 in
the indexed report.

although not specifically for 2007 it does describe the process to do what
you wish. The process has not changed only 2007 renaming/relocating of the
functions you need.
