How to sort date

Hello!

I have a question about sorting on the basis of date in Excel.

I have about 10 columns of data and one column contains the dates. I
now wish to sort the rows on the basis of dates, and the other nine
columns have to stick with their original dates.

When I just use the sort-> ascending, all it does it sort the column
that contains the dates, and completely ignores the other nine columns,
causing unmatched columns and dates.

How do I do this?

Thanks,

Thomas

I personally never let Excel guess my range to sort.

Select all the columns you wish to sort together then Data>Sort and select the
column to sort on in the "Sort By" dialog box.

Highlight ALL the data, and then choose sort by the row you want to sort
by and when it sorts it it will bring the other data along correctly.
