Outlook is not and never will be a newsreader. Use a newsreader.

Hi

Ive been using Office XP Professional before this and its version of Outlook
had the Newsgroup functionality built in, why not this new version?

How did you have that functionality in XP? Where did you go e.g. to get
to it?

I think you are confused. The News function in all Outlook versions
calls the default newsreader on your machine. I suspect that in your
case what you were seeing was Outlook Express opened in Outlook
Newsreading mode.

You are mistaken. No version of Outlook has ever had news reader capability.
You were launching some other newsreader, probably OE. Outlook 2007 is more
forthright than earlier versions because it at least displays a splash
screen to tell you you are switching to another program.
